Resolve is like adobe lightroom/photoshop, but for filmmakers instead of photographers. If you just want to make editing simple with super straight-forward editing with not much exposure corrections, colorgrading and FX so you can put out videos faster, then vegas might be fine. And since it is somewhat newer, I am hoping it has more/better effects.ĭepends on the level of video editing skill you want to reach and the level of wuality on your vids that you will be satisfied with. I can do all of this on my current software so I don't want to lose that functionality - I'm hoping Vegas Pro 18 runs better and is more stable (current software crashes a lot). So, if any of you have used Vegas Pro 18, what are your thoughts on it? Does it run well? Does it have a good suite of effects and tools for editing? I want to be able to edit in images and stuff, chroma key, stretch things, speed up, slow down, etc.

I've tried Resolve and regret not learning it from the get-go, because now it is pretty confusing compared to the editor I've learned. Yes, I know that Resolve is good and free, but I have been using Magix Video Pro X (also got through a bundle on this site) for all my editing so far, and since it is made by the same company, I would honestly be willing to pay for a familiar interface and systems as long as I don't lose functionality and its an upgrade. The bundle is like $40 right now, which is pretty good considering that it usually goes for over $200. Humble Bundle is currently offering Vegas Pro 18 as part of a bundle and I was wondering what people who've had some experience using it think of it as an editor.
